The purpose of the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners is to ensure that the dental profession merit and receive the confidence of the public and that only qualified persons be permitted to practice dentistry and dental hygiene in the state of North Carolina.

Attention Dental Hygiene Applicants who took the
CITA exam June 7 or 8:

Our office does not receive results from CITA until 3-4 weeks after the exam.
Once scores are received, we will need some processing time to issue all the licenses.
When we know the date of issue, we will post it here, along with a time when licenses will be available for pick up.

Name changes cannot be processed online.  You must fax or mail a copy of a legal proof of name change to our office, and we will process it for you.  This may be a driver's license or social security card bearing the new name, or a marriage certificate or divorce decree.  Please allow at least a week for changes to be processed.
